Inth
This is a weird record, and not necessarily in a good way. The pre-Christian Death pedigree is why most of us have sought this out, and this is certainly a far cry from that band's brilliant, genre-defining gothic post-punk. The LP is not really linear, kind of arbitrarily hopping from youthful carnival-esque kinda-post punk, to bedroom-indie-experimental-quirkiness, but more than anything it's like a weird amateur / DIY Rocky Horror Picture show as played through a hazy filter of of almost ska-influenced post-punk-beach-party tunes?... a happy untechnical Mr. Bungle?....maybe...I dunno, I'm not sold on this, but maybe I am missing something.
