Deorro
Sounds reasonably good, but would benefit greatly from being on a double LP set. The bass is just a little on the lean side and this might be down to the running length. But overall, it certainly sounds decent.
Akirg
This doesn't sound remastered at all. Was it just a reissue?
Realistic
These reissues on Music on Vinyl for the first two albums are over 27 minutes a side, just like the originals. How could it be dynamic ? How could it have better base when all the grooves are packed so close to each other? You can not turn these up without getting feedback. Play the record and then play another record that is 18 minutes or less a side , you will hear the difference.
Global Progression
there is definitely a non-limited black vinyl version of this, same barcode
Wyameluna
Don’t be. Same mastering and packaging etc....coloured vinyl is a gimmick really. I mainly prefer to buy the black for overall quality at the moment...
Beanisend
You are correct. I saw a copy yesterday in my local record store. Same with the recent MOV reissue of Mezcal Head by Swervediver.
IGOT
Which I'm fairly saddened about since I picked this up from a seller without knowing this and it came to me black. Sounds great, but I'm a bit disappointed.

Ok, so I was finally able to jam this while the wife and baby were gone for Bible study lol. As far as reissues go, this one is very very good! I bought Swervedrivers's MOV reissue of Mezcal Head and it sounded perfect and so does this reissue. I only got to jam side A, so I cannot tell anything about side B, but that first side was great and I only heard a couple pops on "I want to touch you", but man... just being able to jam "Black Mettalic" through my speakers on a very loud (in a good shoegaze way) was a delight. My only REAL COMPLAINT with this reissue is the jacket itself. While decent in it's normal design, the album art itself looks rather bland and almost like it was a bootleg. Despite that nitpick, it's overall a very good re-release and one of the reasons why these reissues are worth it for those who want these sorta underrated classics and don't have the disposable income to buy OG prints. Try this out and enjoy!

Ok, I have it and am listening to side B now. This is a flawlessly reissued album. No noise, clicks, warps. And that for a coloured 180 grms reissue.. Sounds very dynamic, far better bass than the original vinyl issue from 1992. Had that but sold it for a (very) good price to make room for other records I wanted. Get yours while you can, 1500 copies only.

Dear sir, sorry for my late reply.I absolutely adore Curve. You are a man with taste. Let's correspond on Insta. I'm "goof_draait_platen"

Don't know if you care about the band Curve, but since you like Catherine Wheel you seem like a kindred spirit. Their debut album Doppelganger is getting reissued and should be shipping this September! http://www.bullmoose.com/p/25351492

Can anyone comment on the quality of the vinyl and artwork?
grand star
I have the original and the reissue. I haven't played the reissue yet to review the audio but I can tell you about the art work and album cover. Resolution-wise, they both look to be the same. I wonder if any of the other commentors have the original to compare it to.The original has a slightly more light gray / brownish tint to it than this reissue. The text, "Catherine Wheel Ferment", is grayer on the reissue as well, versus looking closer to white on this new release. This reissue looks to be about 5% brighter and a touch more yellow, so a tad more saturated but it is very subtle. The back cover difference is almost imperceptible. I studied photography and worked for years in a software game developer art department so I have quite a bit of experience comparing minute details for what it's worth.
terostr
Sounds good to me - needed a little cleaning to get rid of a little surface noise and static but other than that, I'm happy with it. Not sure how the artwork compares to the original. Maybe have been a little lo-res to begin with.
Risa
I'm waiting on mine to arrive, but basing off the MOV reissue of got of Mezal Head by Swervedrive, I'm hopeful it'll sound excellent.
Varshav
Music on vinyl is terrible quality. If you are trying to save money then it's worth it
Bolv
I find their releases to be pretty consistent, at least during the last 2 years. Will very likely grab this one!

I've got a typo on mine too. Also, overall how does the sound mix sound to you guys? I think this record sounds a little flat... which is a complaint about this pressing/mastering and not the album itself... it's fantastic.
Danial
I'd agree with that - not stellar. I have the 12" single for 'Black Metallic' and even it is only marginally better than CD copies.
Chinon
I'd have to agree. I was a little underwhelmed by it. This album was something I HAD to own on vinyl but I don't think the sound is much richer than CD.
Marad
Does anyone else have a pressing with a typo on the record sticker? Teiture instead of Texture
ladushka
Yep, mine has it too. I guess all had it.
Gholbithris
I just discovered the error the other day
Dandr
Yes, I think they all were pressed that way. It's interesting that the unofficial discography doesn't mention it because that think is pretty thorough. I've asked the same question on the CW yahoo group and others have discovered the same typo on their copies.
Dranar
I'm thoroughly disappointed with this release. The album itself is excellent, no question, but the reissue is defective. Tracks 12 through 17 crackle and pop constantly, as if you're listening to an old record, and track 14 (That's When I Reach For My Revolver) is faulty, skipping numerous times mid-way through the song. I've owned 3 different copies of this reissue and all 3 did the exact same thing even after being tested on multiple CD players. I emailed Cherry Red about the matter, inquiring whether another pressing of the album had occurred correcting the mistakes (similar to what happened with their faulty Chapterhouse - Whirlpool reissue), and the representative that responded claimed my email was the first time he'd ever heard of the problem in question. To me, this is unacceptable. This is a fantastic album and it deserved much better than a defective, poor sounding reissue.
Hulbine
Mine skips and crackles on 14 as well, glad I did not sell any of my old singles yet.
