my own copy had to be the white pressing but in fact the vinyl was black. two years ago, I got the same problem with the lucid dream "compulsion song" blue pressing who was black too. If you want the white version, chose to buy an unsealed and checked copy.
elegant stranger
Be careful! Some sleeves have the sticker "White vinyl" but the vinyl is black
Am i the only person who thinks this sounds fine? maybe my standards are too low
Wanted to buy the white vinyl edition and got this.Unlistenable crap! What a horrible mastering. No dynamic, no punch, no treble and no brilliance. There is definitely a lack of stereo feeling, lifeless pressing.Very sad to abuse this brilliant peace of music for this cheap pressing. Very sad!
The packaging isn't too bad. It comes with a poster of the original single artwork and the sleeve is a throwback artwork sleeve thats reminiscent of a radio packet. The music as itself sounds super rough. The sound is flimsy and weak, and the record is prone to pops and physical stress out of the package. Not exactly how you'd want to hear the classic song along with some admittedly stellar rarities.
Ltd edition of 250 copies only of this USA promo CDR release.
Couple of black smearssplatter marks on my copy, to be expected though, plays beautifully
False remastered, BIG SHIT from the label, not necessary to measure anything, perfectly noticeable in the listeningSounds digitized and low, it has no pressure.

Looks like the 24 bit CD master was used for the LP. Given that and how many pops there were on my brand new record (this does not seem to be unusual), the FLAC or CD seems to be the better choice for this release.
More Brickwalled rubbish. Still, £14 saved for an original pressing of Bella ;)DR8 -0.08 dB -11.81 dB 9:37 01-Bela Lugosi's DeadDR9 -0.09 dB -10.30 dB 2:23 02-Some FacesDR9 -0.08 dB -11.03 dB 2:52 03-Bite My HipDR12 -0.05 dB -13.09 dB 2:46 04-HarryDR10 -0.10 dB -12.26 dB 3:04 05-Boys
Remastered? This sounds flat and lifeless compared to the original. It's lost all of it's openness and sparkle. It makes me wonder if they've even listened to it after remastering, or just put the dolby on and hope for the best. The pressing isn't the best either, however, it is good to hear the unreleased tracks even if they are a bit murky too.
As much as I am in love with Bauhaus, I am not going to endure a record club and their typical shenanigans to get things like this.
There's a standard black pressing available on their bandcamp. Used to be a white one there, too, but that's sold out. Only the red pressing is through VMP.
Wonder how this sounds for other people? Mine has a pretty good rotational pop for the first 3 minutes on each side.
Mine as well. Same red vinyl club pressing. I'm pretty pissed. At least we deserved a 24bit download code
I am not hearing the pop on my the first side of my record.
I have the red with no pops. I also have the white version, have not listened to it yet. looks like its not in discogs yet. I guess I will step up and enter it.
I have the white vinyl version and have the pop on side 2 for about 15 seconds. It also runs out into the label on side 2. Side one is flawless.
I got the white vinyl release and it pops for a couple seconds on side 1 but goes away once the track starts. Side 2 plays flawlessly
I am also getting the same little rotational “bup” at the beginning of each side, but for only about 5-15 seconds. It comes back in at the end of side one on my copy. The real trouble is, at the end of side two the lock groove that is supposed to keep the needle from tracking right into the label does not do that. So as the needle tracks through the runout groove it goes right on by and into the label. Not good. The mastering sounds well balanced and clear. I can say I have never had that issue on any other pressing where the needle tracks into the label. I hope everyone else has better copies. Rotel RP 900 turntable (90’s model) with Blue Point cartridge, Krell Showcase processor, B&K components stereo amplifier, Project preamp, and Ruark Solus monitors.
Ever so slightly for me, but it disappears very shortly after the side gets going.
